Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for these positions, applicants must meet the specified eligibility requirements concerning nationality, age, and education.

Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India or meet specific criteria for subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who arrived before January 1, 1962.

Applicants must be between 18 and 33 years old. Age relaxations are available for reserved categories, including OBC-NCL (3 years), SC/ST (5 years), and PwBD candidates (10-15 years depending on category). Additional relaxations apply to other categories like ex-servicemen and railway staff.

Educational Qualification

A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent is required for all graduate-level posts. Some positions, such as Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist and Senior Clerk cum Typist, also necessitate computer typing proficiency in English or Hindi. Candidates who are still awaiting their final year results are not eligible.

Medical Standards

Applicants must satisfy the prescribed medical fitness standards, which vary by post and primarily assess visual acuity and general physical health.

Selection Process

The selection process for RRB NTPC graduate-level posts involves several stages:

  1. First Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-1): A 90-minute test with 100 questions covering General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence & Reasoning.
  2. Second Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-2): A post-specific exam, also 90 minutes long, containing 120 questions across the same subjects.
  3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)/Typing Skill Test (TST): Required for certain posts, such as Station Master (CBAT) or clerical/typist roles (TST).
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Verification of original documents and assessment of physical fitness according to railway medical standards.
